I have danced ever since I can remember, first of all by creating my own dances, often for beings that
only I seemed to be able to see. Soon, however, I was diverted to rather more formal training in ballet,
tap, and flamenco.
In the 1990s I took up the Lindy Hop and performed with Singapore's renowned Lindy Hop Ensemble at the
2000 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in 2002, I joined Singapore's performing arts library, the library@esplanade
as the dance librarian and regularly created and conducted dance workshops and lectures. Since 2004 I have
been majoring in sacred dance at Diamond Mountain University. Here, I have been studying the ancient Indian
temple dance form, Odissi , which is taught by the highly regarded Odissi dancer and teacher, Asako Takami.
And, under the guidance of Andreana Karabotsios, Diamond Mountain's Head of Dance, I have been exploring
dance as a potent spiritual practice and a powerful method of reaching our highest potential, and it is
this which I have been sharing by conducting sacred dance workshops. At Diamond Mountain, I have also been
re-acquainted with ballet but this time as a sacred dance form and I hope to be able to share this vision too.
